Statewide Group Training (SA) Incorporated is an independent, community-based not for profit organisation that has been servicing the employment and training needs of South Australian apprentices and trainees, business and industry for over 30 years.

The Traineeship

Certificate 3 in Business (BSB30120)

Statewide Group Training are seeking a business trainee to join our team at Kangaroo Island Council. The position is a full-time traineeship, working a minimum of 38 hours per week and will be paid as per the relevant award unless otherwise advised.

About the role -

  • To implement initiatives in providing efficient and confidential customer service;
  • To act as the first point of public contact and provide professional, efficient and friendly customer service to external and internal clients;
  • To undertake customer service and perform other general administration duties - including reception, telephone enquiries, general cashier work, counter enquiries.
  • To undertake clerical and administrative functions to support departments;
  • To ensure a professional and compatible work environment while providing a helpful, efficient and courteous service to other Officers, Councillors and the public

About you -

  • Good level of communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal;
  • Basic level of numeracy and literacy skills; 
  • Basic organisational skills; and
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High level of personal integrity, confidentiality and discretion;
  • Ability to maintain productive and efficient output in a busy work environment;
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually;
  • Ability to undertake cash handling duties in line with set policies and procedures;
  • Committed to learning and personal development; and
  • Committed to the organisation
